With Christmas coming up, I thought it would be useful to feature some items that I'm currently liking that could help you decide what to get that special lady in your life. So today I bring to you PLUM* by Mary Greenwell. Mary Greenwell is considered a British icon in the fashion and beauty industry. She was a makeup artist for a number of years prior to branching out into the world of perfume. Mary describes perfume as the "last tough of magic to any look" - I love that. Plum is her signature scent and was the first fragrance she released in 2010.
This fragrance is described as "quintessentially English", "exotic, intoxicating and sensual". I honestly could not agree more. Although it has fruity top notes (see below), it is not overpowering. Especially for someone like me who does not like fruity scents
Top notes: plum, blackcurrant, peach, bergamot and lemon
Middle notes: gardenia, tuberose absolute, orange flower absolute, rose absolute and jasmine absolute
Base notes: precious woods, sandalwood, oakmoss, patchouli, amber and white musk
I would describe Plum as a mature, sexy, elegant evening fragrance perfect for winter. I tend to sway towards stronger scents during this time of year. It is a strong fragance and the woody scent comes through quite a bit. But I like that. I always get questions about this fragrance whenever I have it on and I usually still smell it on me the next morning even after I have showered. So it definitely lasts all day (which is a very good thing!). There are three other fragrances in the range; Fire, Cherry and Lemon. I am also fan of Fire.
Have you tried any fragrances from Mary Greenwell?
