For the past week or so, my inbox has been filled with emails about the
upcoming Black Friday sales. Now in the U.K., I never realised that
Black Friday was such a big shopping event until recently. I remember
hearing a lot of my American friends and bloggers talking about it so I
always wanted to find out more information. For those who may not know,
Black Friday falls on the Friday immediately after the Thanksgiving
holiday in the U.S. It is a huge shopping event where retails slash
prices by more than 60% in some cases. The aim is to kick-start
Christmas shopping (if you haven't already begun) and high street
retailers in the U.K. are expected to bank £200m on Friday alone. That
figure just blows my mind.
To be honest, I do not think sales are a bad thing at all. If you’ve worked hard and you have sufficient money to spend, then why shouldn’t you spend and get that extra discount. I must say I have seen a lot of good deals out there at the moment especially if you are like me and you haven’t begun your Christmas shopping yet. I guess this could be an incentive to start.
I also hear a lot of people
asking about coupon codes to get extra discounts. I came across a site - Cuponation which has a page dedicated to coupons to use for a lot of online
retailers such as Amazon, ASOS and Urban Outfitters. If you are someone (like
me) who likes looking for a good bargain, then it may make some sense to check
the page out. You can thank me later.
I guess Black Friday is a tradition
that looks to be staying. So will you be shopping on Friday?
Thanks for reading!
