Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I thought I would ease into the week with a nails post as I haven't done one in a little while. If you read my blog regularly, you will know that I keep harping on about my love for red nail polishes. I have so many shades of red that I can't even keep track of them anymore. So I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try a colour that I have not used before; purple. Mavala are a Swiss nail brand that produce quality nail polishes at a reasonble price. All Mavala polishes are also free from parabens.
I'm wearing Charm which is described as a "bewitching purple". It has has a lovely silver effect running through it. If you look closely in the picture below, you can see it. The nail polish applies really well and the colour is buildable which is nice. I was worried that it may be too dark for my skintone, but I liked the fact that it was quite sheer and I could build on the colour. In the picture below, I used two coats without a top coat. So you can see that the nail polish also has a nice glossy professional finish.
So I guess you're wondering how long it lasted before it started to chip? It lasted for 3 days without chipping which I consider to be ok. I mean if you're like me and you're constantly washing your hands, then three days actually isn't so bad. I also change my nail polish every few days so I wasn't disappointed. The nail polish comes in little 5ml pots which are great for when you're travelling as they won't take up much room at all. The nail polish retails at around £4.50 and you can pick it up from department stores such as Debenhams and various independent beauty supply stores. You can visit www.mavala.co.uk to find your nearest stockist.
Have you tried any nail polishes from Mavala?
