Today I'm comparing The Body Shop Camomile Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover and the Elemis White Flowers Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover. Both products promise to get rid of the most stubborn waterproof makeup instantly. So in order to test this out, I decided to apply really heavy eye makeup (eyeshadow, mascara and eyeliner) to see how effective they both are.
The Body Shop Camomile Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover (*)
This eye make-up remover is suitable for all skin types and contact lens wearers. It has an extremely gentle formula and is both fragrance and alcohol-free. You have to shake the bottle well to activate the ingredients. It almost looks similar to the consistency when you try to mix oil with water.
Elemis White Flowers Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover
The gentle bi-phase formula is formulated with white peony extract to hydrate and cooling white tea to soothe and refresh. It is also suitable for all skin types and contact lens wearers. The formula is also fragrance free.
So how did they fair?
They were both impressive and delivered on their promises of removing my "heavy duty" eye and lip makeup instantly without any fuss. I didn't have to tug at my mascara which isn't the best thing as you end up pulling out your lashes! After shaking it thoroughly, I applied a couple of drops on two cotton pads and used one per eye. As mentioned above they are both extremely gentle which is exactly what you want around your eyes. I did found that The Body Shop Camomile Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover did break down my eye make-up slighter quicker than the Elemis formula. Another difference I noticed was that the Elemis White Flowers Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover left a slightly greasy feel to my eyelids which isn't a bad thing at all, I think it is the moisturising effect of the ingredients. It feels similar to a cleansing oil. Whereas the eye make-up remover from The Body Shop left a slightly matte finish to my eyelids.
In my opinion they both work well and deliver. I think the difference really just comes down to the price. The Body Shop Camomile Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover retails at £8 for 150ml with the
Elemis White Flowers Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover retailing at around £17 for 125ml.
Have you tried any of these eye make-up removers? Which do you use?
Thanks for reading!
I have the elemis one and I find it works really well. I haven't tried the other, but it seems like a great cheaper alternative. I'll have to check it out!

So tempted to buy the Body Shop remover, I've run out and fed up of using wipes that don't work properly.
