This is the first product I have tried from AVON. I used think of Avon as that cosmetics brand that only our mothers seemed to be interested in. However, my opinion has completely changed. I'm a fan. I was kindly sent a few items from their new collection which is being released on 22nd August (....you're welcome!). I was really impressed with the quality of the products and the clean, chic packaging. I think it's definitely a good deal for the price being paid.
The eyeshadow palettes below are the new True Colour Eyeshadow Quads. The quads have always been around but they have now been released with a "new" image. The eyehshadows are now numbered which is handy and tells you what to use where if you need help and are new to the whole eyeshadow business.
1. Lightest: brow bone
2. Accent: inner corner
3. Medium: outer corner
4. Darkest: lash line
There are 9 shades in the quads collection so there's definitely a colour to suit all skintones. Below, I was able to try out Emerald Cut and Mod Muse. The colours in both palettes are great for an evening smokey eye. Have a look below and tell me what you think!
Emerald Cut
I do like this quad although my eyes don't notice much of a difference between #3 and #4. The swatches don't look rich as I did not use that much product but the colours are definitely buildable.
Mod Muse
I like the mix of textures in this quad - sheer and matte. Once again the colours are buildable.
As mentioned earlier, the quads contain a mixture of sheer and matte colours. They have a lovely silky texture and apply on really easily. However not all quads have a mix of textures as seen in the Emerald Cut quad. The eyeshadows aren't rich with one swatch, you definitely need to build it. Don't forget to use a primer enjoy a richer colour. The eyeshadow did crease by the end of the day. As some of you know (because I've mentioned it numerous times!) I have oily skin so my eyelids do tend to get a little oily.
These quads retail at £9 which I don't think is bad at all. The packaging looks great and appears more exenpsive than it actually is. They have a mirror and an eyeshadow applicator too which is handy if you take it out with you for a touch up.
You can pick these up from the 22nd online. Click here. It is definitely worth having a look through the collection as there may be colours you like. I've got my eye on the Mocha Latte quad too.
Have you tried any products from Avon? Which other items should I try out?
Thanks for reading!!!
