There are many reasons why women wear makeup to the gym and some women view this statistic as insanely high. Some have said.."Why would you bother about what you look like when you're going to sweat it all out anyway??!" or "..There's another one with her face full of makeup, I'm guessing shes here to people watch rather than workout!". Now my issue with the latter statement is, surely when you go to the gym, you're there to focus on YOUR workout, not what someone has on their face. Why are you so bothered?
Like I said before, there are many reasons why a woman may turn up to the gym wearing makeup. The most obvious would be if you're coming straight from work and you can't be bothered to take it all off before you begin your workout. There are also women who only feel comfortable if they have makeup on. Obviously the ideal situation I guess would be to let your skin breathe whilst you sweat those carbs off. However, the way I see it is, each to their own. I wear makeup to gym as I love wearing makeup. As simple as that. Once I've finished my session, as long as I cleanse, tone and moisturise properly, I'm good to go. Definitely remember to wash your makeup off after the gym as makeup and sweat create the optimum environment for bacteria on your skin which results in clogged pores and pimples.
A few tips:
1. Wear waterproof mascara to avoid panda eyes.
2. A tinted moisturiser or bb cream can provide good coverage without you being worried about your foundation dripping down your face.
3. Lip butter / lip balm which can add some colour to your lips without the need for a lipstick.
