So we've seen various brands including Nails Inc. bring out feather effect, jeans, velvet and leather effect nail polishes. However, the creativity of these brands hasn't ended there. I'd like to introduce Nails Inc. CONCRETE effect nail polish. Yes you read that correctly..concrete! Nails Inc. have released a new line of concrete effect nail polishes last month which is currently available in stores and online. I attended their press day a few months ago where we were lucky enough to be given a preview of the range. When I initially saw it, I was a little apprehensive. I questioned myself as to why I would want nails that looked like I dipped my fingers in sand?! But I must admit, they are different and have grown on me. Textured nail polishes are definitely set to make their mark in 2013!
In the picture below, I am wearing Marble Arch which is described by Nails Inc as a "tomato red". Alhough against my skin tone, it appears as a more coral red nail polish. The limited edition bottle is very creative with it's textured cap. You simply apply the polish as you would normally and watch the texture change. It dries as though there are tiny granules of sand on your polish. In my opinion, there is no need for a top coat because of the texture. In the picture below, I used two coats.

I liked the fact that the polish dried really quickly so I didn't have to worry about it smudging. However, the one downside is that it is a bit of a pain to take off although not as bad as glitter polishes. But you do need a lot of nail polish remover. I found that it lasted about 4 days without chipping. This 10ml bottle retails at £12. There are four shades in the range: tomato red (above), cobalt blue, nude and lime. Have you tried this texture yet? Which textured polish is your favourite?
