I received this little gem in the goodie bag from the #LiveBloggers event last month. It was definitely a welcomed surprise as I am currently on the hunt for a natural deodarant. I have used a few natural deodarants in the past but was put off by the fact that I would get really sweaty whilst using them. I normally never carry deodarants with me in my handbag once I've used it in the morning after showering. I never really need to (thank God!). So when I use a deodarant, I need it to work all day. It's just not cool when you become paranoid thinking you smell.
Weleda are suppliers of natural, cruelty free body care products and anthroposophic and homoeopathic medicines. All Weleda’s products are made from pure natural substances; artificial preservatives are never used. The Weleda Natural Citrus Deodarant retails at £8.95 for 100ml and contains lemon and orange essential oils which is meant to "neutralise and prevent unpleasant body odours without clogging up pores". The deodarant is free from alluminium salts.
It has a
nice fresh citrus scent which I think is great. It's not too strong once it has settled. However, it's the sort
of deodarant you need to top up. It says that you can use it up to 3
times per day. Now as I mentioned earlier, I'm used to using my
deodarant once a day so I found that after a couple of hours of using
this product I needed to top up. That was a little frustrating, especially if you don't have it in your handbag. What I did like about it though, was that once you applied it, it was quickly absorbed into the skin. So my underarms were nice and dry.
So would I get it again? I think if I did, I would use it as a body mist rather than a deodarant as I do like the fragrance. I think it is a good deodarant if you are into natural deodarants. But I like to feel confident when I've left the house in the morning (obviously I know we wouldn't expect to smell like roses all day) but I didn't feel as fresh after just a few hours.
Have you tried this product or any product from the Weleda range?
Thanks for reading!

Aww too bad this doesn't last you all day! I'm looking for deodorants which don't need top ups as well. I have however tried their Wild Rose Smoothing Eyecream which I loved, it's seriously one of the best eyecreams I've ever tried. Finally got around to check out your blog and I love it :) Am following you now xx
ReplyDeleteGreat review! It sucks that this doesn't last all day.
ReplyDeleteGreat review! So unfortunate that you have to apply it every so hours. I dont like that either! I'm using rexona for years and once used, you dont have to reapply. But it wouod be nice to find a natural replacer.
ReplyDeleteToo bad this wasn't a good deodorant! The review is really clear. I'd love to see more of these :)
