If you have read my previous nail posts, you will know that I love red nail varnishes. But sometimes change is good. So I set myself a challenge to try out different nail varnish colours that I would not normally go for. This week I decided to wear "Blackberry" by Barry M. It is exactly as the name suggests; a deep dark purple shade. I mean this shade is completely on the opposite spectrum of what I usually go for. I always had this thing in my head that dark polishes would not suit my skin tone, but I was pleasantly surprised. It looked nice.
This nail varnish is part of their "Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint" range. It is a very rich polish and can achieve a great colour with just one coat. However I used two coats in the pictures below. The varnish has a great shine to it so you do not need a top coat (I didn't use a top coat in the pictures). My nails had an extra glossy shine to them and the varnish did dry relatively quickly. My slight disappointment was that it started to chip after three days.Which is far shorter than any of their other varnishes I've tried in the past.
This nail paint retails at £3.99 which is a very good price! At that price, I think it is definitely good value for money.
What do you think of the colour? Have you tried Barry M nail paints before?
Thanks for reading!

Great colour- I wouldn't have thought of going for a strong purple like this, but I'm really tempted now
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of Barry M's and you are right they do tend to chip after a few days. Still for the price it is not a bad varnish and I have been eyeing this one up for a good few days.
ReplyDeleteThe colour is lovely but like others have said and you've mentioned Barry M polishes chip badly after a few days....sometimes even after 2 days; I guess you get what you pay for so I just don't buy them anymore.
